JOB SUMMARY
The Estimator plans exact cost estimates for completing projects and ventures; researching and collecting the data and examining the same for crucial measurements; utilizes knowledge in estimating work and concluding tentative delivery schedules; provides knowledge of cost and profits that will help in making some profitable business decisions; provides comprehensive reports so the organization can make informed decisions to indirectly enhance profitability and contribute to faster development.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Establish associations with key vendors like subcontractors, suppliers, engineers, etc.
Give precise consultation on planning (e.g. labor needs, schedules and so on).
Decide key factors for an expense and further, share the required estimates.
Assemble direct data from stockrooms, sites or different locations.
Organize research sessions to get information on work costs, materials, manufacturing times and so on.
Utilize third-party software for data analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
Acquire and audit the offers and statements shared by subcontractors or sellers.
Research about the potential risk factors and perform risk analysis.
Make and submit estimated reports or offers to suitable people (e.g.project managers, customers, bidding competitions and so on).
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Science or relevant field.
Professional Estimator Certification (CPE) will be a plus.
Proven 2+ years of work experience as an Estimator, Construction Estimator, or a similar position.
Familiar with various financial and project management standards.
Thorough knowledge of research and information analysis strategies to comprehend the undertaking project and its prerequisites.
Expert in estimating formulas.
Splendid Math and IT capabilities with an analytical mindset.
Capable of applicable programming software (e.g.Timberline, HCSS HeavyBid, Xactimate).
Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
Detail-oriented individual.
Attention to detail for accuracy.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to communicate orally with clients, management, and other co-workers, both individually and in front of a group.
Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication.
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Hearing and vision within normal ranges is essential for normal conversations, to receive ordinary information and to prepare or inspect electronic documents.
Good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment such as computers, calculators, and copiers.
Good reasoning, organizational, and analytical abilities are required to solve a wide range of business problems.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
