Job Opportunity BHSI has an exciting opportunity in either our Boston, MA or Atlanta, GA office for a results-driven, analytical, and motivated Property Underwriter with 2+ years of experience, preferably in the Wholesale / Excess & Surplus (E&S) property insurance market. We’re looking for a smart, driven, and curious early-career professional who is eager to build a long-term career in commercial property underwriting within the exciting and fast-moving excess and surplus (E&S) market. Duties & Responsibilities Review and assess property insurance submissions for completeness, accuracy, and risk acceptability. Analyze CAT-exposed property risks and determine appropriate pricing and coverage terms. Collaborate with brokers to understand market opportunities and develop tailored insurance solutions. Maintain underwriting discipline while achieving business growth and profitability goals. Document underwriting thought process & decisions; maintain accurate records in internal systems. Stay current on industry trends & (re)insurer financial results. Qualifications, Skills And Experience 2+ years of property underwriting experience, preferably in the Wholesale and/or E&S market Strong understanding of property coverage structures, risk assessment principles, and pricing mechanics Proven ability to manage broker relationships and deliver responsive, solutions-oriented service Self-starter with excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills Proficiency in underwriting tools and systems; familiarity with CAT modeling software and terminology is preferred Desire to grow into a production underwriting role with increasing autonomy and business development responsibility Willingness to travel BHSI Offers A competitive package and exciting growth opportunities for career-oriented teammates.
